Have You Watched The Video on the Home Page?
The video on the home page is full of scenes that actually happen in everyday life. Here it is once again:
People are injured or killed all across America, and around the world on our highways by those who are either careless, or just are not paying attention to the task at hand….Driving.
EXAMPLE #1
Just the other day, I was behind a girl who was driving a bit erractically. She was going a bit slow and was all over her lane…and she was in front of me. The time came for her to make a left turn and I was able to pass her just as she got into the left turn lane. I wasn’t at all surprised to see her phone in her right hand being up next to, but a littler lower than the center part of her of steering wheel. Her focus… was not on driving, but on her phone.
EXAMPLE #2
A day or so later, I was turning left to get onto the Interstate on ramp, and this intersection had two lanes because this was and is a heavy traffic intersection. I was in the right lane of those two lanes. Traffic coming from the other side had a yield sign, but the driver coming from that direction didn’t have a clue he was supposed to yield, even though a full two lanes of traffic was moving through his upcoming path. He came right on into my lane, where I was. I could tell he wasn’t paying attention and avoided an accident by carefully manuevering and braking, all the while blowing my horn at his idiot. He thought I was at fault and started honking at me.
Accidents are called accidents for a reason. Accidents happen when people just are not paying attention to what they are doing. Almost all accidents are preventable, if only people WOULD pay attention.
I’ve offered two examples of what happened to me on the road recently. There were several others, and I should have written them down, but those two stood out and I made a mental note that I was going to blog about those two…they happen all the time. I see countless examples of careless driving. I’m getting set up to start video tapping some of this crazy stuff, so stay tuned in the near future to see a few videos here and there.
